What is a MODAmyra?
I'm Myra, a death doula & folk artist living and working in Southern California.

I work as an end-of-life doula - offering doula support, caregiving, & services - to people at the end of their lives AND their families. I also offer creative services (such as legacy project planning & creation, music & multi-media services, and photography) in an effort to be comprehensive in meeting client needs. I am a MAiD & VSED facilitator. I am ready, willing, and able and it is my honor to serve folks in their most challenging hours.

I do outdoor portraiture, headshots, portfolio work, cosplay projects, goddess shoots, and small group sittings. Additionally - creative collaboration always welcome for costuming/cosplay, photography, and music. It was doing pro bono photography that led to my doula work! I worked with organizations providing aid to unhoused & at-risk communities which led to a broader understanding of the needs of the dying - and a will to affect change in deathwork!

-
Finally, I'm also licensed in the state of California & sell insurance - if you've somehow arrived at this site for that reason, please email me here! (Due to regulation in the insurance industry & policies of the company I represent, this website isn't going to be helpful to you if you have insurance questions or needs.) That said, I'd be glad to help, so reach out anytime.

I am happy to work in-person anywhere in Southern California within the Greater Los Angeles area, including Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. I will also travel to San Diego County, Ventura County, San Luis Obispo County, and Santa Barbara County. While challenging, in-person contracts can be arranged for other parts of the world & of course, services offered via the internet also lend much greater flexibility to how we can work together.
Please visit my contact page and let's discuss! ~m

I was a guest on the End of Life Conversations podcast - click to listen! This conversation gets into our thoughts on community grief, what motivates the work we do, and how we came to death work.
