The Death Space

Is it just semantics? Or is it a clear distinction? It's something I've been thinking about for a couple of years now but in the last year the answer has revealed itself through the day to day of working as a doula: I am both.

“Dignity in death” is the rallying call of proponents of medical aid in dying and that phrase points out the difference nicely: the element of choice is what supports dignity, but also choice as an informed and rational component in end-of-life decisions.
